Education should be expansive, reaching all youth, no matter their socioeconomic status, race, background, or learning abilities. Settling for the status quo just isn’t an option anymore.
And, like you, I don't believe this is asking for too much.
You want students to be celebrated for their originality so they can strengthen their unique gifts. You want learners to see challenges as opportunities to grow so they can reach educational breakthroughs. You want youth to get curious about their interests so they can discover their passions and change the world.
There’s just one catch: I can’t do it alone.
When we combine aligned efforts with pioneering methods and engaging materials, we can encourage educational breakthroughs that make a meaningful impact on a child’s life and future.
The core of my work starts with empowering you — the educators and families who deeply care, but need support, resources, and innovation to embolden all learners with the tools they need to be successful.
Playing ‘teacher’ was the go-to game of my youth. As I stapled papers to the walls of my family home (sorry, mom and dad), I experimented with creating bulletin boards and worksheets for my ‘students.’ My imagination surrounding education was innate, so the fact that it became my career feels entirely meant to be.
From my time teaching at the University of Michigan to my years working with youth in community programs, seeing a love of learning flourish in my students ignites my passion for education even more.
For me, it comes down to this: educators are some of the most important people in a child’s life. Their intelligence, diligence, and empathy shape children’s lives on a daily basis, despite their limited resources and support. Each of us can help, even in what seems like small ways, to bridge that gap. I created Pionera Edu to do exactly that.

Spanish architecture! In fact, even our core name ‘Pionera’ is Spanish and translates to ‘pioneer.’ I love looking to other cultures to expand my horizons and think outside of my immediate environment.
I love what I do, so naturally, navigating a sustainable work-life balance continues to be a recurring theme for me. I strive to find ways to recharge and reenergize — like taking walking breaks throughout the day or cozying up with a captivating book in order to function at my best.
Putting children (or adults!) in a box - or succumbing to limitations of any kind. We all have unique capabilities and those are best extracted when given the opportunity to stand confidently in our originality.
No matter your age or place in life, there’s always something to learn. Education excites me because, by nature, it’s expansive and enriching. Each time we learn something new, a little inner transformation takes place.
My approach to assessment is multifaceted, but always includes opportunities for a student to reflect on their own progress. Success looks different for all youth, so we take measurements that celebrate their strengths, illuminate their opportunities to grow, and empower them to take ownership of their own learning.
My programs celebrate each kid’s originality so they can feel free to deeply explore their innate curiosities and interests. I work to support educators and educational professionals as they prepare to engage with all kinds of children and meet them exactly where they’re at — encouraging and welcoming each kid into a learning environment and opportunity that is entirely inclusive, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, life experiences, or learning abilities.
I feel empowered and energized by the opportunity to get creative and do things a little differently. I hold myself accountable to being a trailblazer for equitable, accessible, and effective education, and I strive to inspire kids to become pioneers in what they’re passionate about while supporting educators to do the same.
